The WSOP main event's final table has now been announced, as the November 9 players made it the the final stage of the tournament. They will have to wait four months until the final game gets underway. No former winners remain in the tournament as Phil Hellmuth was eliminated on Sunday along with Nguyen and Cantu.
Current chip leader Dennis Phillips finished the penultimate game with a chip count worth 26,420,000. He's now in a great position and will already be looking forward to the prospect of winning his first bracelet and major event.
Tiffany Michelle, the last standing women in the tournament, finished in 17th place and was knocked out by Danish pro Peter Eastgate. The actress still received a standing ovation for her efforts. The final 9 are as follows:
Dennis Phillips
Craig Marquis
Ylon Schwartz
Scott Montgomery
Darus Suharto
David "Chino" Rheem
Ivan Demidov
Kelly Kim
Peter Eastgate
Play will resume on the 9th November in Las Vegas and will be covered by several TV broadcasters. The build up will begin today and won't end for the 16 weeks leading up to the final. Dean Harmick was the unlucky 10th placed player after going all in and being beat by Craig Marquis with a pair of Queens.
