APPT to Kick Off in September
4th June, 2008
With last year’s success of the first ever Asia Pacific Poker Tour, organizers have announced that they will once again hold an Asia Pacific Poker Tour to accommodate poker lovers in Asia who want to show off their expertise in the game and be among the top players of poker the world over.
Now that Asia has been recognized as one of the continents that homes hundreds of excellent poker players, it is only fitting that special world tournaments of poker be held for the masters of poker in that region. Incidentally, the tour will kick-off on September 1st in Macau, China where it all began last year.
Tour Coverage
From Macau, China Asia Pacific Poker Tour 2008 will go to neighboring South Korea where the games will be held in Seoul beginning 26th of September until the 28th of the same month. Approximately 200 players will be joining the event.
From here, they will go to New Zealand where players get to experience the beauty of Auckland beginning 9th October to until about the 12th. The last stop will be at the prestigious Hyatt Hotel and Casino located in the Philippines’ capital city, Manila although there are still no specific dates as to when the tour will land in the Philippines. Expected to play are about 400+ + players.
This tour is only a testimony of how globally poker has grown and how much people all around the world love the game. It also shows that talented players are scattered all over the globe hence, everyone should get a chance to play a world championship game if only to be among the best poker players ever known.
APPT 2 Finals
The finals of the 2nd Asia Pacific Poker Tour will be held in exotic Australia. Buy-in here is the biggest pegged at about almost $6, 000; which is actually okay considering that the winner will get to bring home almost $1M! Not bad for a second Asian tour.
Although it may seem highly unlikely that the players will still find time to enjoy the sites since they will be concentrating on their game and how to best outsmart their opponents; it is nonetheless interesting to add that the finals for the 2nd APPT will be in a hotel very near historical Sydney Harbor Bridge.
